There is no one universal computer recovery software, because there are several factions of operating system users. Those being Linux, Mac and Windows. Mainly though, there are just the Apple and Microsoft camps. Put quite simply, you can’t use recovery software for a Mac on a PC or vice versa. There is only Mac recovery software and PC recovery software and no combination or in between, regardless of what anyone promises. The main reasons for this are that Macs and Windows PCs use different programming languages in their design and so a program from one system can’t really communicate correctly on another. Furthermore, Macs feature a Disk Initialization and verification process that must be overridden or worked around to gain access to their hard drives.
